Looking Glass is an in-store virtual ring try-on device developed for Cartier, featuring a desktop lamp with a built-in camera, a computer, and an iPad running the app. Designed to match Cartier’s exceptional quality, it provides a guided, in-person AR experience unlike typical smartphone AR apps.
When clients are interested in unavailable rings, a sales associate assists them in using Looking Glass. Clients wear a marker ring, place their hand on the lamp base, and see a real-time image of their hand wearing the selected ring on the screen.
Powered by a custom GAN AI engine, the system generates hyper-realistic ring images tailored to the client’s finger size and skin tone, offering a seamless and luxurious virtual try-on experience.
I worked on concept development, design research, and prototype testing, focusing on the digital experience and interface design. My role involved defining the user journey, refining the interface, and ensuring the seamless integration of physical and digital elements to deliver a sophisticated and premium AR experience for Cartier clients.
