Oral Traditions is an online community cookbook website where Asian American families share their home-cooking recipes and the stories behind them. Initiated in 2020 by the Happy Family Night Market, a platform celebrating Asian food and culture, the project remains ongoing.
The website’s design reflects its title, visualizing each recipe as a personal story told by the author, while capturing the sense of community and the joy of sharing food. The desktop version features a whimsical, bespoke UI, while tablet and mobile versions cater to those who prefer a more conventional and efficient recipe layout. The site also allows users to export recipes as PDF files for easy printing.
